Coaches & Instructional Staff:
• Member of the Armenian National Team 1989-1991 prior to moving to the US
• US Elite competitor 1996, 1997
• 12 years coaching experience
• Produced 2 US National Team members
• Produced 3 Division I NCAA full-scholarship recipients (U. of Oklahoma, Penn State, West Point)
• SCMGA Coach of the Year 2002, 2003, and 2005
• Coached 30 State and Regional Champions since 1999

Shannon has been developing competitive gymnasts at SCATS since 2006 and assumed the role of Head Coach in 2013. She comes to us from Cal State Fullerton where she was a coach after retiring from collegiate gymnastics.
Favorite part of the job: "I love seeing how excited the kids are about gymnastics, the smiles on their faces, and how a simple 'high five' can mean so much."

Vivian has been coaching Tots, Mighty Mites, and Junior Academy at SCATS for 18 years! As the program supervisor of our pre-school aged students, she is responsible for planning weekly lessons, training coaches, and organizing many of our special events and activities.

Elizabeth has a love of children and an excellent way of teaching. In addition to running our Holiday Camps, she teaches our Mighty Mites and Junior Academy Girls.
Favorite part of the job: "I really love seeing my students' progress, watching them improve and learn new skills."

Lisa has elevated the SCATS GYM Team program to a whole new level over the last several years and has helped to educate younger staff as a very experienced veteran coach, one who competed gymnastics at the highest levels herself at one time! Lisa prides herself on offering an educational and memorable experience for the girls and families of the GYM Team program and is always improving upon it year over year for SCATS teams and other clubs involved.

Mitch has been a part of the SCATS family since 1985! He began as a general program student over 25 years ago and worked his way through our competitive program up to Level 10, earning placement in many USAG sanctioned State and Regional competitions. Mitch proudly gives back to the sport what it gave him and is now developing Level 5,6 & 7 boys at SCATS to become part of our unmatched legacy in men's gymnastics!

Jordan was a homegrown gymnast himself at SCATS and competed at Michigan alongside his close friend, 2012 & 2016 Olympian and SCATS alum, Sam Mikulak. Jordan has worked with boys team members of all levels, including Sam himself at Michigan, the Olympic Training Center in Colorado and at SCATS.

Cindy has been coaching SCATS' youngest children for 25 years! Cindy works with Toddlers, Mighty Mites, and special needs children of all ages. She is also our Birthday Party Coordinator.
Favorite part of the job: "I really enjoy watching all of the children grow and the excitement in their faces when they learn a new skill. The silly things they do to make me laugh are what have kept me here for over 20 years."

Joel has been working with SCATS for over 8 years. Formerly a competitive gymnast, Joel has a genuine love of the sport that shines through in his teaching.
There is nothing in the gym that Joel cannot coach — from Mighty Mites to Tumbling and everything in between.
Favorite part of the job: "Seeing the kids finally learn a skill they've been working so hard on. I'm fortunate to have some great and entertaining students — they make me laugh!"
